The institution inherited the collection of reformed college, first inventory being noted in 1797. The museum got his name after Haáz Rezső drawing-teacher and ethnography-collector. It is functioning since 1968 in the Kossuth Street. In the gallery of paintings of the museum you can admire caricatures by Tomcsa Sándor, seven portraits by Barabás Miklós and baroque portraits from the XVIII century.

The scientific library of the museum has 80.000 volumes.
